Who I Am

Gerald “Bud” founded Buddy’s Farm after a serious accident in 2009 led him to rethink his work and create a new path for himself and his two young sons. The farm’s name honors both his grandfather—also nicknamed Bud—who taught him about business, integrity, and hard work, and a beloved family rooster named Buddy, who protected their hens and inspired the spirit of the farm.

Artist Statement:
What began as a small homestead with chickens, ducks, and gardens gradually grew into a passion for beekeeping. By 2013, Bud had expanded into managing a larger flock and establishing his first apiary. Over the years, he has formed partnerships with beekeepers throughout Sonoma, Marin, Napa, Solano, and Mendocino counties, focusing on raw, unfiltered honey that remains true to its natural source.

Today, Buddy’s Farm offers a wide range of regional and varietal honeys, honey sodas (“BeeBitas”), snow-cone treats (“Bee’s Freeze”), and handcrafted beeswax products including lotion, pomade, lip balm, sunscreen, and crayons. Each item reflects Bud’s dedication to simple ingredients, sustainable practices, and thoughtful craftsmanship.

Bud is also known throughout the region as Sonoma County Santa, spreading holiday cheer at local events and family gatherings every winter.
